Tanks with No Density / Molecular Weight / Material

This analysis rule includes the list of tank elements that have no values in their Density, Molecular Weight, or Material attributes. Missing values for any of these Attributes indicates a data communication error, data error or missing data entry items.

The following table lists a sample log output for this analysis.

Sample Log

TimeSeverityElementAttributeMessage
9/1/2005 10:05...REPORTING TANKS WITH NO DENSITY, MW, MATERIAL
9/1/2005 10:06ErrorTankANo value in Material attribute, 0 in MW Attribute MolecularWeight
9/1/2005 10:06ErrorTankB0 in MW Attribute MolecularWeight

Analysis Method

  1. Collect a list of all tank elements in the Case that satisfy the following criteria:
  • Tank Element Object Status is IS (In Service)
  • For each tank, determine if the density, mw or material Attribute has not been set.
  1. Write to the log section of the case. Report the current Case density, the previous Case density and the difference between the two.

Configuration Using the Wizard

The configuration of the Tanks with no Density/MW/Material is a selection of the General Gross Error Analysis Rule. You open the window for configuring the test (shown in the following figure) from the General Gross Error Analysis Rule Wizard.

  1. Open the Gross Error Configuration window as described in Configuring - General Gross Error Analysis Rule.

  2. On the Tanks tab, select Tanks with no density/MW/Material.

    A Tanks with no density/molecular weight/material - Attributes window opens.Figure 373: Tanks with no density/molecular weight/material - Attributes window

  3. Select Attributes according to the following table:

    Attributes

    SelectionsDescription
DensityDensity of material in the tank. The default is to 'Density'.
Tank MaterialMaterial in the tanks The default is 'Material'.
Molecular WeightMolecular Weight of the material in the tank. The Default is 'MolecularWeight'.
StatusTank in/out of service status. The default is to 'ObjectStatus'.

Note: Select the status Attribute and any of the other three Attributes that you want to test. It is not necessary to select all the attributes.

  4. Click OK to finish the configuration.

The text "CONFIGURED" displays next to the 'Tanks with no Density/MW/Material' selection.

  5. To run this test, see Running the General Gross Error Analysis.
